   Put it on your home screen.

   Open app.ilahiqawwali.com in Safari or Chrome, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. It then opens like any app and works at rehearsal even when the signal drops.

   Sign in with your email.

   No password. Type your email, tap Send me a code, and type the six digits that arrive. The band is already on the list, so that is all it takes. Someone new? Open the line under the email field, add the invite code from the WhatsApp group and your name, and Amie lets you in.

   Tap a piece, press the disc.

   On the first screen, tap any composition to aim the disc at it. Press once to record, press again to stop. Say whether it was Tahir teaching or a practice take (the app guesses), then Save.

   Your take files itself.

   It goes to the band's Dropbox within minutes, gets a name, and appears under its composition with machine notes of what was said. Those notes are unverified: never lyrics, only a memory aid.

   The setlist comes first.

   The current setlist sits above the full library. Open a piece to see its cover, lyric sheet, raag sheet, the full recording, the band's own live versions and every take ever made of it, newest first.

6. 6

   Practice lights up.

   Every day you record or listen for half a minute turns green on your twelve-week grid. Copper is a day you were at Samā. It is yours alone; nobody else sees it.
